Leonard Musa Makwinja (BSc (Hons), MSc) - Chairman of the Board

Leonard Makwinja a mining engineering brains is the new BTC Board chairman taking over from Wilfred Mandlebe an economist to lead the strategic direction of Botswana Telecommunications Corporation.
   
  Mr Ratsela - Member

Mr Ratsela  joined the Board in April 2006. He is currently Director of Information Technology, University of Botswana. As a member of BTC Board, Mr Mooketsi is currently the Chairman of the Tender Committee. He holds a Master of Information Technology from the University of Newcastle –Australia;  Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Telecommunications Systems Management  and Design(Anglia  Polytechnic University) ; and Bachelor of Science from the  University of Botswana.
     
 

Mr Alan Phemelo Boshwaen - Member
Mr Alan Phemelo Boshwaen , the Chief Executive Officer of the Botswana International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) since the company’s inception in 2003 has been appointed to the BTC Board by the Minister of Transport and Communications. In addition , he has extensive prior corporate experience in the banking sector ,having held senior management positions with both Barclays Bank of Botswana and Standard Chartered Bank of Botswana. He has also previously worked for the Debswana Diamond Mining Company in Jwaneng. Mr Boshwaen holds a BA( Honors) in Industrial Psychology from the University of Kent at Canterbury and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University Of Botswana Faculty of Business.

 

 

 

Ms Goitseone N Mosalakatane - Member

Ms Goitseone N Mosalakatane joined the Board of Directors in May 2009. A human resource management practitioner, Ms Mosalakatane has been the Managing Director of BothoPele Management Consultants since 2005. She served as the Country Director Institute of Development Management (Botswana) from 2003-2005, with a strong focus on strategic leadership, general management and implementation of corporate policies.
She has also worked for Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) as Human Resource Director, formulating and updating all aspects of human resource policies, systems and procedures.
The winner of the Sir Roderick Award in Public Administration obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences in Public Administration and Political Science at the University of Botswana.
Ms Mosalakatane also holds a Masters of Science in Human Resource Development from the University of Manchester.

 

 

 

Mrs. Serty Leburu - Member

Mrs. Serty Leburu joined the BTC Board of Directors in May 2009.An accountant by profession, Mrs. Leburu is currently Executive Director- Finance and Chief Operating Officer at Standard Chartered Bank. She has broad knowledge on commercial issues and technical expertise.
Prior to joining Standard Bank, she had been part of the Diamond Mining Business for 17 years working at different levels of management .She held the position of Finance Manager at both Jwaneng mine and Botswana Diamond Valuing Company with a strong focus on commercial and business issues .
She has also worked for the mine as a Financial Accountant and Assistant Accountant. Mrs. Leburu graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Botswana and later acquired a professional qualification, CIMA.

 

 

 

Mr Cecil Otukile Masiga - Member

Deputy Director (Development) in the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services has been appointed to the BTC Group Board by the Minister of Transport and Communications.
Mr Masiga, who has attended several managerial and supervisory courses, has extensive telecommunications experience, having held senior positions with both Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and Botswana Railways.
He holds a Masters in Communication Policy from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom (UK), Bachelor of Engineering Electrical and Electronics from the University of Botswana and a High National Diploma Communications/ Electronics from John Moores University in the UK.

 

 

 

Boikhutso Dube - Member

Senior Assistant Commissioner Boikhutso Dube is a member of the Botswana Police Service (BPS) currently holding the portfolio responsibility of Director – Departmental Management Services, a corporate services function that encompasses inter alia, the direction and development of a diverse range of key corporate management functions and services for the Botswana Police Service.
Mr Dube, who holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Botswana, has been appointed to the BTC Group Board by the Honourable Minister of Transport and Communications.
In addition to his law qualification, Mr Dube holds an International Executive Diploma in Strategic Leadership from the Police Staff College Bramshill, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the National Archives Advisory Council and is Chairman of the Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund Board of Trustees.
