Anthony Masunga - Managing Director

Anthony is tasked with leading the transformation of optimizing the value of BTC for all stakeholders. He was previously Chief Operating Officer credited with leading strategic projects such as the turnaround strategy of beMOBILE (BTC MOBILE) and delivery of BTCL IPO as the project manager. Prior to this assignment, he held a double role as Acting Group General Manager Commercial and Privatisation Programme Manager responsible for giving strategic direction to BTC’s three strategic business units covering group marketing direction and repositioning of wholesale functions. The founding General Manager- of beMOBILE (BTC Mobile) is credited for growing the new market entrant by attaining 605% annual revenue growth and 10% market share in the first year. He successfully led negotiations and secured the most sought-after Botswana Premier League sponsorship from an established market leader. His most recent successes include launch of the new BTC brand, delivery of the historic BTCL IPO as the project manager, establishment of the corporate risk committee to strengthen the discipline of risk management at BTC, and transforming the wholesale function into a business unit. With over twenty years’ experience in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology, he has worked in various projects with roles ranging from strategy formulation, program management, product development, technology innovation to business planning. He holds a BSc Computer Science from McGill University (Canada) and an MBA from DE Montfort University (UK). He is an Alumni of the Stellenbosch University Business School having completed their Executive Development Programme.


Aldrin Sivako - Chief Operations Officer

In his new role at BTC, Aldrin will deputise and support the Managing Director in developing a robust Strategy for the technical arm of BTC being the Information Technology Division, Technology Division as well as the Transformation Office to ensure that its technology is relevant and fit for purpose with the view to deliver shareholder value. He will provide leadership and oversee the technical arm of the company, identify and forge strong relationships with strategic partners to strengthen the BTC value proposition as well as monitoring the effective management of CAPEX and OPEX in line with the company’s objectives. Aldrin has 19 years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry, nine (9) of which were spent working within BTC. He is highly experienced in Strategy formulation and implementation, Business Development, Product development, technology planning and design, fixed mobile convergence and project management. He has worked for numerous organisations within the telecommunications industry namely, Mascom Wireless, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation, Botswana Fibre Networks in various capacities and most recently Liquid Telecom as Chief Technical Officer. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Telecommunication Systems from Coventry University in the United Kingdom and is an Alumni of the University of Stellenbosch Business School, Executive Development Programme. Edward Wicks - Chief Commercial Officer

Edward, has been in the telecommunications industry for more than 24 years, operating mainly at executive level. He has in depth knowledge and expertise in most aspects of telecommunications including Commercial Management, Strategic Marketing, Product Development, Business Development and Distribution. He has held various senior positions and directorships in numerous companies which include: MTN, Opera Interactive, Integrate, beMOBILE, Zantel, Koozo Marketing and Starfish Mobile. During his tenure in the different organisations, he has been accountable for amongst others co-ordination of client, supplier and joint venture relationships leading to successful completion of complex projects and initiatives; covering financial services, mobile banking, mobile advertising, marketing automation and mobile apps development. As a strategic consulting expert, he has been responsible for launching two mobile networks and rolling out mobile value-added services across Africa. Mr Wicks holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree from the University of Edinburgh amongst other professional qualifications. In his new executive position, Edward, will oversee the commercial arm of BTC, directing and driving performance in the dynamic Marketing, Enterprise Sales, Consumer Sales and Quality of Service functions within the organisation. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, he will ensure collaborations and synergies within the functions.


Abel Bogatsu - General Manager Finance

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Abel’s role as the General Manager, Finance is to provide professional finance inputs to the creation and maintenance of a BTC business strategy that will deliver shareholder value. He will also be responsible for the operation and management of all financial systems and processes while ensuring financial regulatory compliance. Further to this, Abel will provide management and the Board of Director’s with relevant financial data necessary for timely decision making. Abel is in charge of justifying the BTC financial strategy to all key investors and stakeholders, demonstrating that the approach actively contributes to the achievement of business goals and the full integration of quality management processes within the finance structure and their effective deployment on a day-to-day basis. He possesses a bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of Botswana and is a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Botswana Institute of Accountants. He has more than 24 years’ experience in the Financial sector having previously worked at the University of Botswana, Botswana Housing Corporation and currently Botswana Telecommunications Corporation. Abel has been the Board Chairperson of the Botswana Medical Aid Society since June 2008.


Boitumelo Masoko - General Manager Consumer Sales

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, Boitumelo’s role as the General Manager – Consumer Sales is to create and maintain a targeted strategy for the consumer market (Mass, residential and SMME) that will contribute to the delivery of shareholder value. She will also be responsible for developing a comprehensive and achievable sales plan for customer acquisition, retention and revenue growth as well as to formulate strategies to grow the BTC fixed and mobile footprint throughout the country and utilise dealers to ensure visibility, availability and reach all customers. Boitumelo will develop comprehensive and achievable sales plans, grow revenue through increased reach and penetration within client organisations, sales of new and incremental products. She has over 18 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, 11 of which were spent at Senior and Executive level. Boitumelo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences Degree from the University of Botswana as well as a Masters in Science in Strategic Management from the University of Derby. She is also an Alumni of the University of South Africa and Stellenbosch Executive Development Programme.


Mmamotse Mary Monageng - General Manager Support Services and HR

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Mmamotse’s role is to provide professional human Resources inputs to the creation and maintenance of a BTC business strategy that will deliver shareholder value, direct BTC’s human resources within an agreed strategic framework that supports the achievement of business targets for profitability and customer satisfaction. She will further develop and implement human resources policies which support the transformation from government ownership to a successful private company. She will also provide overall strategic direction in delivering Support Services model to support business operations. These include property management, fleet management, security management and Environmental services. Mmamotse possesses a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from Curtin University of Technology in Australia. She has more than 13 years’ experience in the Human Resources industry and is highly experienced in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Administration and Strategy management. She has worked for numerous organisations within the private and public sectors in different industries such as The Botswana Innovation Hub, Orange Botswana, Associated Fund Administrators as well as Local Enterprise Authority (LEA).


Same Read Kgosiemang – General Manager Internal Audit

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Same’s role as the General Manager Risk and Internal Audit is to plan, organise and direct the Risk and Internal Audit Division to ensure BTC is provided with an independent and objective assurance service designed to add-value and improve BTC’s sustainability (profits, ethics and operations) as well as to manage the Division, proactively identify risks and make recommendations to mitigate risks to ensure business continuity. He will also manage Internal Audit activities within a framework agreed with the Board, providing regular progress reports and recommendations to the Board and Executive Managers. Same is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) in the United Kingdom. With close to 30 years’ experience in the Internal Audit and Risk industry, he has worked for The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Sefalana, Rural Industries Promotions, Water Utilities Corporation, Local Enterprise Authority and currently BTC.


Peter Olyn - General Manager Technology

Mr. Olyn has over 17 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry; spanning companies such as Mascom Wireless, Huawei Technologies Managed Services for MTN Zambia and Malachite Holdings He is highly experienced in the Telecommunications environment, with emphasis on operational transformation, planning and deployment. Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Botswana. He is also an Alumni of the Stellenbosch Business School, Senior Management Development Programme. In his new role as the General Manager Technology, Peter will be focusing on Telecommunications Networks, driving the Plan, Build and Operate functions of the business. He will also lead strategic planning to achieve targets by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives.


Goitseone Tshiamiso - Head of Service Quality (A)

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer as the Head of Service Quality, Goitseone is responsible for the development of customer service frameworks and standards in line with best practices through being responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of a service wide quality assurance framework. He will provide professional service quality inputs making sure financial benefits are realised, ensuring creation and maintenance of the BTC customer service quality strategy that will create and deliver shareholder value. He will lead a robust participation strategy is implemented, seeking feedback from service users and other stakeholders on service provision to ensure they are fit for purpose and making recommendations when corrective action is needed. Goitseone possesses a Bachelor of Information Systems from the University of Botswana and is an Alumni of the University of Stellenbosch Management Development Programme and a member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries.


Malebogo Mosinyi– General Manager Marketing (A)

Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Malebogo Mosinyi as the General Manager Marketing (A). Malebogo has in-depth knowledge on Business/ Competitor Intelligence, product concept testing, opportunity assessment, market activity spend effectiveness, brand health tracking, new product development and market share analysis with over 12 years’ experience. She has worked for numerous organisations such as Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL), Bank Gaborone and Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA). Malebogo has completed Masters of Commerce in Management Practice specializing in International Trade Law and Policy from the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. She also has a Masters in Economics, majoring in Public Sector Economics and Corporate Finance & Investment and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with Double Major in Economics and Environmental science, both obtained from the University of Botswana. She has also completed Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) training with University of Stellenbosch. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, Malebogo is tasked with providing professional segment focused marketing inputs to the creation and maintenance of a BTC Strategy that will create and deliver shareholder value. She will also position BTC to compete effectively in a highly competitive and mature telco market for Fixed and Mobile products and services to meet set revenue targets for return on investment, profitability and customer satisfaction.


Frank Marumo - General Manager Information Technology(A)

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, Frank’s role is to direct BTC’s Information Technology operations within the framework of an agreed Corporate Strategy and meet operational targets for service quality, reliability, customer satisfaction and financial performance. He will lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritising development initiatives and setting timetables for evaluation, development and deployment of IT services. Frank directs IT programmes, including Service Desk Management (ITIL), Business Applications, Computer hardware/software asset management, technology procurement and contract management, network engineering and administration. He will also be responsible for ensuring the company’s IT investments are aligned with its strategic business objectives. Frank has undertaken Senior Management Development Program from Stellenbosch University. He also has a Master’s in Strategic Management from Derby University and he is also an Alumni of the University of Stellenbosch, Executive Development Programme.


Solomon Rabewu - General Manager Enterprise Sales(A)

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, Solomon’s role as the General Manager - Enterprise Sales is to develop and maintain a robust Sales Strategy for the Enterprise market segment (Corporates, Government and Licensed Operators) that will drive sales and revenue growth thus contributing towards the delivery of Shareholder value for BTC. Solomon will direct operational management of the Enterprise Sales Division within the framework of an agreed Corporate Strategy and to meet operational targets to derive some return on investment, profitability and customer satisfaction through effective Client Relationship Management (CRM). He will also be responsible for positioning BTC to be able to compete effectively in a highly competitive telecommunications market for Fixed and Mobile products to meet set revenue targets for the relevant segment. He has 28 years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry having spent his entire career at BTC and rising through the ranks. Solomon holds a Diploma in Telecomm Management and a Diploma in Telecommunications (C&C part2) both attained from CTO & Alliances Consulting (Advanced Diploma on Telecommunication Technician by City & guilds). He has also undergone Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) with the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently studying for Charted Company Secretaries.


Sydney Mganga-Company Secretary

Reporting to the Managing Director, Sidney is tasked with advising the Board and company on governance matters, providing secretarial services to the Board. He will also oversee the Legal and Regulatory functions of the company to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. With more than 15 year’s professional experience, Sidney brings with him a wealth of relevant experience and insight to the role. Prior to joining BTC, Sidney worked for numerous organisations such as Debswana Pension Fund where he was the Legal and Compliance Manager, Wilderness Holdings Limited, a dually listed company on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) and Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) where he held the position of Group Company Secretary looking after seven (7) countries, Barclays Bank of Botswana Ltd where he was the Legal Advisor and Company Secretary and Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), amongst others. Sidney possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Botswana and is also a Chartered Company Secretary from ICSA (ACIS). Sidney also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Tax & Audit from the Botswana Accountancy College. He has also undergone Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) with the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
